SNIPPET

Want more energy, clearer thinking, better moods and overall health? Eat less sugar!

Refined sugar: increases fat storage and inflammation (which causes heart disease and arthritis); it hampers our immune system and increases the risk of catching the flu as well as several cancers; damages our genetic code and feeds systemic Candida yeast overgrowths that can cause virtually any symptom. Dr. Nancy Appleton lists 75+ ways sugar harms us.

Americans eat 150 pounds / year on average or about a measuring cup a day. Sugar is hidden in virtually every canned, boxed or packaged food—even some vegetables. One type of sugar, corn syrup that is used in soft drinks and many foods, is of additional concern due to mercury contamination. Sodas are one big source of corn syrup and 2/3 also contain the toxin benzene which is lethal in very high amounts.

Switching to diet sodas and artificial sweeteners is NOT the answer. They actually seem to make us gain weight and long term use is linked to urinary tract tumors and other illness . One type sweetener damages our friendly intestinal bacteria and another causes migraines and symptoms similar to multiple sclerosis.

What's a body to do? It's way more than I can cover here, so please read the expanded article on my website for more information; some neat pictures; my recommendations on reducing sugar consumption; safer alternative sweeteners; and the scientific references.
